Committed To Go For The Lord!
Greetings in the name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, in Whom we as believers have received redemption by the shedding of blood.
And having been redeemed from the curse of sin and death, we are joint heirs with Jesus Christ, for we as believers are called "Sons of God."
I thank God for this, another opportunity to share with you the perfect blessings of God through Jesus Christ. Recognizing that all of God's blessings are perfect because He Himself is perfect. But in order to receive the perfect blessings of God, we must continue to seek His face. Which means, we must continue to grow in The Lord, and I believe that the best way to accomplish this is to commit to Him.
For a period of time, messages were preached focusing on commitment, "Being Committed To Go For The Lord." We looked at the Prophet Isaiah who when after seeing The Lord, answered the questions, "Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?" In this manner: "Here am I, send me."
Then we looked at the Prophet Jeremiah, the weeping prophet. After experiencing rejection from the very people he was instructed to warn, he responded out of anger and said, "I will not make mention of Him (The Lord), nor speak any more His Name." But Jeremiah was not able to hold to that. His reaction to his response was another response, "But His (The Lord's) Word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing and could not contain."
The evidences of one truly being committed is when he or she has every reason and excuse to quit, and doesn't. This attitude of service comes when we realize that what we do is for Christ and it is not about us. We must learn that if we desire to be committed to the services of The Lord, then the only thing we are to take personal is our relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Everything else good or bad--it is not about us.
Being committed to go for The Lord is not age nor gender limiting. The Bible says in Mark 8:34, "Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me."
Romans 12:1 says, "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, and acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service."
All believers must take on the duty of commitment to The Lord, by committing their service to kingdom building. Committed service in the local church he or she is affiliated with by discipleship; this commitment is offered through one's time, talent and treasure; according to the Word of God.
The universal church that is founded on The Word (Jesus Christ) will be strengthened by the committed efforts of all believers. This strengthening will translate its power to the local church and to each individual believer, "praises go up and blessings come down."
So, I beseech you therefore, believers, by the mercies of God, that you commit yourselves to The Lord, and serve Him with gladness. Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, knowing that it is a blessing to be considered by God a vessel worth using for his purpose.
We are not perfect, but we serve a God Who is.
